YMCA Indiana

Following the wave of constant ‘fake news’ and all the complaints coming from upset members, YMCA Indiana prompted to ban CNN from all TV’s in its wellness and exercise areas.

In a statement issued by YMCA, Valparaiso, Indiana to its members, it said that CNN network has been removed from the TV’s workout facility due to numerous complaints about the channel programming.

YMCA-fitness_0The YMCA’s chief development officer, Debra Koeppen said that “Trying to please everyone” is the “No. 1 problem we have in the wellness area,” Jerry Davich of Chicago Tribune reported, who claimed to be YMCA member for seven years.

According to the message sent by Robert Wanek, CEO of YMCA Valparaiso, to its members earlier this week, he said that “In order to eliminate perceived political bias associated with national news outlets, the Valparaiso Family YMCA will only be showing local news channels in the future.”

In the report of Davich, when he asked Wanek to give more details about the CNN’s removal from the TV’s facility, the CEO responded saying, “I cannot pinpoint the change’ origins, only to add that we get dozens of requests to change channels every day from numerous interest groups.”

“We just want the Y to be a haven for wellness where people come together and have a sense of belonging, gain new relationships and achieve their personal goals,”

Henceforth, no more national channels will be aired inside the Y facility for the members.

“We will display local news moving forward,” Wanek added

Davich’s written article in Chicago Tribune is a little opinionated given the fact that he is against the decision to remove CNN from the facility TV’s. The journalist along with other members disagreed with the Y’s new policy.

Davich even insisted that CNN is not a biased network and said that “none” of the members including him “agreed with the removal of CNN.”

In the first sentence of his {Davich} article, he gave his opinion saying, “Is the Valparaiso Family YMCA simply exercising its right to appease as many members as possible, or is the new Donald Trump-led America already flexing its muscles?”

Further, in his last statement, he clearly expressed his disappointment about the decision by saying, “the Y’s decision to remove all national news outlets from its televisions says more about its leaders than its members. You’d think this story would be just another example of fake news. Sadly, it’s not.”
