Thursday afternoon crash with pickup truck was on North Carolina Highway 55

HOLLY SPRINGS, NC, (October 24, 2024) - A Thursday afternoon collision involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle in Holly Springs claimed the life of a 39-year-old man.

Motorcycle AccidentAndrew Dudley lost his life Thursday afternoon when a pickup truck collided with the motorcycle he was driving along North Carolina Highway 55 in Holly Springs.

According to the Holly Springs Police Department, Andrew Tyler Dudley, of Fuquay-Varina, was driving a 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 along the southbound side of North Carolina Highway 55 when a 2021 Ford F-250 pickup truck struck the bike around 3:45 p.m.

Tragically, emergency responders declared Dudley deceased at the site of the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

MOTORCYCLE CRASH INVESTIGATION

This accident underscores the dangers that motorcyclists face on our roadways each day. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there were 6,530 motorcyclists killed on U.S. roadways in 2021, an increase of 9 percent from 2020.

Candice Bond, an experienced motorcycle accident attorney, said in such cases, it is imperative to preserve evidence through an independent probe.

“In addition to a police report, an attorney will carefully review what may have contributed to the crash,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal. “Your lawyer has the resources to hire expert witnesses, conduct drivers’ background checks, locate witnesses to the crash and review applicable insurance coverage. Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help compassionately guide the heartbroken family of a victim during this difficult time, protecting their legal rights while ensuring that a driver is held accountable after disobeying traffic laws.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family of Andrew Dudley may pursue a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident such as this.

"In the wake of a catastrophic accident, families deserve peace of mind. Completing an independent investigation while big insurance corporations want to weaken your case requires an attorney with full knowledge of the complex legal process and resources to fight by your side.

"Losing a loved one due to someone else’s negligence is an unimaginable tragedy. While no amount of compensation can bring them back, an experienced attorney can hold responsible parties accountable and help secure justice for your family."
