Accident on I-680 near the Rudgear Road exit claims life of Escalon resident, CHP says
ALAMO, CA, (October 25, 2024) - The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says one person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision along Interstate 680 in East Bay's Alamo area early Friday morning.
Eduardo Anaya, a 41-year-old resident of Escalon, was killed following a three-vehicle wreck on Interstate 680 in East Bay's Alamo area early Friday morning, the Highway Patrol said.
Authorities identified the fatality victim as 41-year-old Eduardo Anaya of Escalon.
The deadly crash involved three vehicles and happened near the Rudgear Road exit at about 6 a.m. The specifics of the incident and the circumstances surrounding the wreck were not immediately available.
This is an ongoing investigation.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, speeding was the primary cause of fatal crashes in 2018, followed by the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication; failure to stay in the proper lane; failure to yield the right of way; and distracted driving.
