Deadly accident happened on Company’s plant along Highway 33 near Hanawalt Avenue
LOST HILLS, CA, (September 16, 2024) - A farmworker at Wonderful Pistachio & Almonds Company was fatally hurt as a result of a two-vehicle collision Monday night in Lost Hills, authorities said.
Jose Lopez tragically lost his life after the vehicle in which he was a passenger collided with a truck at the Wonder Pistachios & Almonds facility in Lost Hills Monday night, authorities said.
The incident happened at the Wonder Pistachios & Almonds facility on Highway 33 near Hanawalt Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a pickup truck and Razor off-road vehicle were involved in the crash that took the life of Jose Lopez, who was a passenger in the vehicle. Last month, another company worker was crushed to death by farm equipment in Wonderful’s orchards, the report said.
Lopez’s age and city of residence could not be verified.
Cal/OSHA is investigating.
