3 injured in Thursday morning pickup truck accident on Highway 2
DEER RIVER, MN, (January 23, 2025) - Three people were injured Thursday morning in a single-vehicle rollover accident in Deer River Township.
Juanita Cressy and Catherine Plieseis were injured Thursday morning in a rollover accident along Highway 2 in Deer River.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP), a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck heading eastbound along Highway 2 left the roadway and overturned in a ditch near Willie Road at approximately 7:51 a.m.
Two passengers, identified as 43-year-old Juanita Zamora Cressy and 52-year-old Catherine Catina Plieseis, both of Bigfork, were taken to Deer River Hospital for treatment of injuries they sustained in the wreck.
The 82-year-old man driving was also hurt and transported to the same hospital.
Authorities say conditions were snowy/icy at the time of the wreck.
CRASH INVESTIGATION
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), nearly 2.5 million people were injured in motor vehicle crashes in 2021.
“Road conditions, visibility, and lighting are all possible contributing factors that are considered and require thorough examination,” said Candice Bond, a Managing Partner with Bond Legal.
“An accident reconstruction team is sometimes needed to help piece together what happened. All of these resources are necessary for helping clients receive monetary compensation for damages or a loss following a collision,” said Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney.
PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM
Juanita Cressy and Catherine Plieseis may be entitled to an injury claim, and they may seek recovery for damages, including medical expenses, future medical care, pain and suffering, and emotional trauma.
“A major injury means that there will be a lot of challenges ahead. Attorneys know how to handle all the legal aspects of a case so a person could focus on healing and moving forward,” Bond, who is also a national legal analyst for Newsline, said.
Bond added, “It doesn’t matter how large an insurance company a victim of a major crash is fighting; an attorney with experience and resources will ensure that the victim's right are protected and injuries are properly compensated.”
