OHSP investigating triple-fatal accident along State Route 64
SWANTON TOWNSHIP, OH, (November 16, 2024) - Three people lost their lives Saturday night in a solo-vehicle accident on State Route 64 in Swanton Township
Kenneth Blake was fatally injured Saturday night when the vehicle he was traveling in struck a tree along State Route 64 in Swanton Township.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OHSP), a 2006 Pontiac G6 traveling westbound along State Route 64 left the roadway and hit a tree near milepost 7 around 7:45 p.m.
A front-seat passenger, identified as 53-year-old Kenneth J. Blake, of Holland, was sadly declared deceased at the site of the crash.
The driver and a second passenger were also fatally injured.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
CRASH INVESTIGATION
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 42,915 people lost their lives in motor vehicle crashes in the United States in 2021, an increase of over 10 percent from 2020.
“Road conditions, visibility, and lighting are all possible contributing factors considered and examined,” said Candice Bond, a Managing Partner with Bond Legal.
“An accident reconstruction team is sometimes needed to help piece together what happened. All of these resources are necessary for helping clients receive monetary compensation for damages or a loss following a collision,” said Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney.
WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM
Pending the results of any investigations, the family of Kenneth Blake may pursue a wrongful death claim. Survivors of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident such as this.
Bond, a national legal analyst for Newsline, said, “Grieving families of victims are sometimes overwhelmed by the legal processes that are in place to protect their rights. An attorney can be a valuable and compassionate resource to help guide a family during difficult times and ensure that those left behind receive the restitution they are entitled to.”
“No amount of money is enough for a victim or their family to deal with the trauma and pain they experienced after a catastrophic crash. However, an attorney can help ease the financial burden and provide a path forward,” Bond stated.
