PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION
Vulnerable road users like pedestrians face danger every day. While all of us are advised to be careful, the burden of responsibility falls on people driving or riding in vehicles.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an estimated 104,000 pedestrians were injured in crashes and transported to local emergency rooms in 2020. These crashes are often caused by factors such as distracted driving, speeding, and failing to yield to a pedestrian.
“Having the proper resources is extremely important in order to investigate a pedestrian accident case and prove negligence,” said Candice Bond, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney and a Managing Partner with Bond Legal.
Bond stressed: “In most instances, pedestrians possess the right of way when crossing an intersection or a street regardless of if they are in a marked crosswalk. It is always a driver’s duty to yield to any pedestrian.”
PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM
Matthew Hadway may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim pending an investigation.
Bond, a national legal analyst for Newsline, said, “It is vital for victims to hire an attorney when filing a personal injury claim, which allows them to negotiate with an insurance company on behalf of a client.”
“Insurance companies often try to pressure victims to settle for a quick payout for far less than the case is worth. However, she added that an attorney will vigorously advocate for their client to ensure they are treated with respect and compensated fairly.”
