Wednesday morning collision happened along Ohio 47
BELLEFONTAINE, OH, (November 06, 2024) - A serious accident on Ohio 47 outside Bellefontaine left 24-year-old Quentin Evans from Piqua with severe injuries on Wednesday morning. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reported that the collision occurred after another driver lost consciousness at the wheel.
Quentin Evans was seriously seriously injured on Wednesday when his vehicle was struck by another motorist along Ohio 47 in Bellefontaine.
Evans was traveling eastbound in a 2013 Honda Civic when the crash happened. According to the report, a 45-year-old man from DeGraff was driving west in a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado pickup when his vehicle drifted off the right side of the roadway. He then re-entered the road, crossed the centerline, and struck Evans' vehicle head-on.
Evans suffered serious injuries and was transported to Grant Hospital in Columbus for medical treatment. The pickup driver was taken to St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima with minor injuries and has been cited for failure to control his vehicle.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances.
CRASH INVESTIGATION
Each year, motor vehicle crashes in this country kill roughly 36,000 people and injure 1.9 million more. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, speeding was the primary cause of fatal crashes in 2018, followed by the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication; failure to stay in the proper lane; failure to yield the right of way; and distracted driving.
“Road conditions, visibility, and lighting are all possible contributing factors considered and examined,” said Candice Bond, an experienced attorney and Managing Partner with Bond Legal.
“An accident reconstruction team is sometimes needed to help piece together what happened. All of these resources are necessary for helping clients receive monetary compensation for damages or a loss following a collision,” said Bond.
PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM
Quentin Evans may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim pending an investigation.
Bond said, “Injured victims involved in a collision often seek a personal injury claim to cover the cost of medical bills, future medical care, loss of income, emotional trauma, and pain and suffering.
"Insurance companies can be notoriously unconcerned with the mounting costs that an injured party may accrue. An attorney can help. We protect the victims of these tragedies daily, forcing the insurance companies to pay for their mistakes,” she added.
