Toledo native was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police say
TOLEDO, OH, (October 11, 2024) - A motorcycle rider was severely injured in a hit-and-run crash Friday night along Schwartz Road in north Toledo, Lucas County, according to authorities.
Trevor Cope, a 24-year-old Toledo resident, was badly injured after his motorcycle was struck by a driver who fled the scene Friday night in north Toledo, according to a news release.
The incident happened near the Hoffman Road Landfill and Grand Truck Western Railroad.
Investigators say Trevor Cope, a 24-year-old Toledo resident, was riding south on Schwartz just before midnight when a northbound vehicle crossed the centerline and his motorcycle. Cope was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle's driver did not stop at the scene, police said.
Police are investigating.
