House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi refused to comment when she was asked about the statement of former CIA Director and staunch Clinton supporter Michael Morell in which he stated that there was no Russia-Trump Collusion.
Pelosi said that she was not aware of any statements made by Morell and said: “I’ll have to see what he said, but I’ll say this, we need an investigation. We need an investigation-an independent outside investigation because there are plenty of indicators that there is a connection and until we can have an investigation, what are the Republicans afraid of?”
The House Minority Leader had previously avoided similar discussions when former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper also voiced a similar tone by saying that there was no evidence of the Trump Campaign colluding with the Russians during the campaign.
Pelosi when she was asked about Clapper’s statement, replied with: “We haven’t had the investigation that we need to have, and that’s what we’re saying is follow the facts, follow the facts.”
Morell in an event on Wednesday said that he had seen no evidence of Trump or any of his associates conspiring with the Russians during the campaign period.
Morell said: “On the question of the Trump campaign conspiring with the Russians here, there is smoke, but there is no fire, at all.”
He further adds: ”There’s no little campfire, there’s no little candle, there’s no spark. And there’s a lot of people looking for it.”
Morell also blasted the dossier that was released by a former British intelligence operative Chris Steele saying: “doesn’t take you anywhere, I don’t think.”
“Unless you know the sources, and unless you know how a particular source acquired a particular piece of information, you can’t judge the information — you just can’t,”
Daily Caller made a follow-up to Pelosi and her Chief of Staff Drew Hamill for her response on the matter along with Morell’s statement. The DC did not receive any response from Pelosi.
