White House press secretary Sean Spicer, playing the role of special guest at a GOP fundraiser Thursday night, said President Donald Trump “wins every time” in prepared remarks, the Washington Examiner reported.
“The interesting thing about President Trump is when you look at his record, he’s someone you don’t want to bet against. He wins every time,” Spicer was quoted by the Examiner.
“Our country is going to win. Our businesses are going to win, because that’s the bet that he has on us now,” Spicer said.
The fundraiser, sponsored by the Republican Party of Virginia and held at one of Trump’s golf resort properties in Sterling, Virginia, was attended by 75 people, the Examiner reported.
Tickets for the event ranged from $125 per person to $6K for six VIP tickets, the Examiner reported.
Spicer touted Republicans’ ability to “get things done” in a week that can best be described as turbulent.
Spicer himself as been at the center of rumors that Trump has alternately mulled firing him or replacing him as the frontman of the daily White House press briefings.
