Sept. 29 collision happened along Ohio Route 28

CLERMONT, OH, (September 29, 2024) - A tragic accident on Ohio Route 28 at Edenton Pleasant Plain Road in Goshen Township, claimed the lives of five people and left another injured. 

Police Lights Andrea Iery Andrea Iery was identified as one of the five people who lost their lives on Sept. 29 as the result of a tragic two-vehicle crash in Clermont County.

The crash occurred in the early hours of Sept. 29, around 1:43 a.m.

The collision involved a 2005 Chrysler 300 and a 2007 Subaru Legacy. The Chrysler was traveling northeast on State Route 28, while the Subaru was heading northwest on Edenton Pleasant Plain Road. The accident happened when the Chrysler struck the Subaru, causing both vehicles to veer off the north side of the road into a ditch.

Tragically, both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the Chrysler and one passenger in the Subaru also died at the scene. The Subaru victim was later identified as 42-year-old Andrea Iery of Pleasant Plain.

Another passenger in the Chrysler was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Multiple agencies, including the Goshen Police Department, Goshen Township Fire & EMS, and the Clermont County Coroner’s Office, responded to the scene. The highway patrol is currently investigating the crash to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

In 2018, the U.S. Department of Transportation Fatality Analysis Reporting System recorded 33,654 fatal motor vehicle crashes in the United States, resulting in 36,560 deaths.
