Sept. 29 collision happened along Ohio Route 28

CLERMONT, OH, (September 29, 2024) - In a devastating accident, five individuals lost their lives in a crash that occurred on Ohio Route 28 at Edenton Pleasant Plain Road in Goshen Township. 

Police Lights Dustin McDole Dustin McDole was identified as one of the five people who lost their lives on Sept. 29 as the result of a tragic two-vehicle crash in Clermont County.

The crash took place in the early hours of Sept 29, at approximately 1:43 a.m.

The collision involved two vehicles: a 2005 Chrysler 300 and a 2007 Subaru Legacy driven. The Chrysler was traveling northeast on State Route 28, while the Subaru was heading northwest on Edenton Pleasant Plain Road. The crash occurred when the first vehicle struck the Subaru causing both vehicles to veer off the north side of the road into a ditch.

Tragically, both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. The Subaru driver was later identified as 43-year-old Dustin McDole. Two passengers in the Chrysler also succumbed to injuries at the scene, as did a passenger in the Subaru. 

One passenger in the Chrysler was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. 

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Goshen Police Department, Goshen Township Fire & EMS, and the Clermont County Coroner’s Office.

The crash is currently under investigation by the highway patrol to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

In 2018, the U.S. Department of Transportation Fatality Analysis Reporting System recorded 33,654 fatal motor vehicle crashes in the United States, resulting in 36,560 deaths.
