Deadly multi-vehicle wreck happened at State Route 32 and Herold Road, OSHP says
BATAVIA, OH, (September 03, 2024) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) says one person was killed and multiple others injured, one seriously, in Clermont County Tuesday afternoon.
Denise Harris, a 71-year-old Mount Orab resident, was seriously hurt after a multi-vehicle wreck in Clermont County Tuesday afternoon, the OHSP said in a release.
The incident happened at approximately 2 p.m. in Batavia Township. An initial investigation revealed that a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic was stopped south on Herold Road at State Route 32. At the same time, a 2020 Lincoln Navigator was traveling east on Route 32. A third vehicle—a 2019 Infiniti QX60—was also stopped northbound on Herold.
Authorities say the Chevrolet entered the intersection and collided with the Lincoln. The Chevrolet then crashed into the Infiniti QX60 and came to rest.
A 51-year-old passenger in the Chevrolet died from injuries, the OSHP said.
Denise Harris, 71, of Mount Orab, another passenger in the Chevrolet, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Four people received minor injuries.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly 2.5 million people were injured in motor vehicle crashes in 2021.
“Road conditions, visibility, and lighting are all possible contributing factors that are considered and require thorough examination,” said Candice Bond, a Managing Partner with Bond Legal.
“An accident reconstruction team is sometimes needed to help piece together what happened. All of these resources are necessary for helping clients receive monetary compensation for damages or a loss following a collision,” said Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney.
PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM
Denise Harris may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim pending an investigation.
Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal, said, “Injured victims involved in a collision often seek a personal injury claim to cover the cost of medical bills, future medical care, loss of income, emotional trauma, and pain and suffering.”
“Insurance companies can be notoriously unconcerned with the mounting costs that an injured party may accrue. An attorney can help. We protect the victims of these tragedies daily, forcing the insurance companies to pay for their mistakes,” he added.
