Early Tuesday incident happened at Belmont Shore fire station
LONG BEACH, CA, (September 24, 2024) - Early Tuesday morning, a Long Beach Fire Department truck, responding to an emergency call, struck and killed a man outside Fire Station 8 in the Belmont Shore neighborhood.
Michael Ross lost his life early Tuesday morning when he was struck by a fire truck exiting the station in Long Beach.
A fire department spokesman reported that the man, identified as 61-year-old Michael Ross, was lying in front of the station's roll-up door when the truck exited at around 12:30 a.m.
Despite immediate aid from firefighters, Ross, who was homeless, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner confirmed his death resulted from the incident. The Long Beach Police Department is currently investigating the matter.
CRASH INVESTIGATION
