LICKING, OH, (September 22, 2024) - In the early hours of Sunday, at around 2:30 a.m., a vehicle drove into several tents at the Lost Lands Festival, causing significant disruption and injuries in an area designated for staff.

Handcuffs Noah Curtis Noah Curtis was arrested in connection with a pedestrian crash early Sunday at the Lost Lands music festival that injured two people.

The vehicle, driven by 24-year-old Noah Curtis from Westerville, plowed into the staff area, striking multiple tents. The impact resulted in injuries to two individuals. A woman was transported to Mt. Carmel East with a broken hip, while a male victim sustained minor injuries but did not require medical transport.

Curtis was charged with aggravated vehicular assault and is currently being held in Licking County Jail.

The Licking County Sheriff’s Crash Team is handling the investigation. At this time, no further details have been released.

PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

The statistics are staggering: Approximately 6,227 pedestrians died in the U.S. in 2018, and even more were injured, an increase of 250 from a year earlier, according to the Governors Highway Safety Association.

This incident underscores the dangers that pedestrians face every day in this country. The cause of many of these accidents is negligent driving, distracted driving, or drivers failing to yield to pedestrians.

“Having the proper resources is extremely important to investigate a pedestrian accident case and prove negligence,” said Candice Bond, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney and a Managing Partner with Bond Legal.

“An examination of road conditions, signage visibility, and road lighting is crucial. These procedures are necessary for helping those who have lost a loved one receive the justice that they deserve.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

An injured victim may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim pending an investigation.

Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal, said, “Injured victims involved in a collision often seek a personal injury claim to cover the cost of medical bills, future medical care, loss of income, emotional trauma, and pain and suffering.

"Insurance companies can be notoriously unconcerned with the mounting costs that an injured party may accrue. An attorney can help. We protect the victims of these tragedies daily, forcing the insurance companies to pay for their mistakes,” he added.
