The motorcyclist sustained a concussion, a broken collar, and a road rash
BAKERSFIELD, CA, (September 08, 2024) - A female motorcyclist was injured after colliding with a vehicle that turned in front of her along Highway 99 just south of Rosedale Highway in Bakersfield.
(Facebook)Rose Jamie is recovering from injuries she sustained following a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision along Highway 99 in Bakersfield Sunday afternoon, according to authorities.
The victim, Rose Jamie, caught the Sunday afternoon incident live on her Facebook stream. The video shows a car suddenly making a lane change directly into the path of Jamie's Harley Davidson, triggering a collision.
Dozens of bikers thronged Kern Medical, where Jamie continues to recover. She is being treated for a concussion, a broken collar, and a road rash.
There was no information about the vehicle's driver.
This is an ongoing investigation.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in 2019, there were 5,014 motorcyclists killed in motor vehicle traffic crashes in the United States. Additionally, there were an estimated 84,000 motorcyclists injured in 2019.
