Early Sunday collision happened along Ohio 46
BAZETTA, OH, (November 01, 2024) - A serious accident early Sunday morning on Route 46 resulted in one death and serious injuries to another individual. The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. and has raised concerns about road safety.
A serious accident on Route 46 early Sunday morning resulted in one fatality and serious injuries to another individual.
The injured party, 35-year-old Britni Ulam of Niles, was traveling in a 2006 Nissan Xterra when the vehicle veered off the right side of the road. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Nissan struck a culvert, overturned, and came to rest down an embankment. Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle.
Following the initial crash, a man from the Nissan was struck by a southbound 2014 Nissan Altima. The driver of the Nissan was uninjured.
Ulam sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Bazetta Township EMS for medical treatment.
OSP is investigating the circumstances of the crash and believes that alcohol and speed may have played roles in the incident. The ongoing investigation aims to determine the full details surrounding the accident.
CRASH INVESTIGATION
“It is imperative to determine the exact cause of these types of accidents. An attorney has the resources to review applicable insurance coverage, hire expert witnesses, run background checks, and locate witnesses. We carefully guide the family of the victim through the process,” said Candice Bond, a managing partner with Bond Legal.
She noted that, in cases such as this, an independent investigation is crucial to preserve evidence.
“In addition to a police report, an attorney will carefully review what may have contributed to the crash,” said Bond. “A lawyer has the resources to hire expert witnesses, conduct drivers’ background checks, locate witnesses to the crash and review applicable insurance coverage. Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help guide an injury victim through what can be a complicated process.”
PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM
Britni Ulam may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim pending an investigation.
Bond said, “Injured victims involved in a collision often seek a personal injury claim to cover the cost of medical bills, future medical care, loss of income, emotional trauma, and pain and suffering.
"Insurance companies can be notoriously unconcerned with the mounting costs that an injured party may accrue. An attorney can help. We protect the victims of these tragedies daily, forcing the insurance companies to pay for their mistakes,” she added.
