Impairment suspected in early morning head-on collision along U.S. Route 33
LOGAN, OH, (November 02, 2024) - An 18-year-old woman was critically injured early Saturday morning in a Logan County collision involving a wrong-way motorist who authorities suspect was impaired at the time of the crash.
Chloe Gross was severely injured early Saturday morning when a wrong-way motorist crashed into the vehicle she was driving along U.S. Route 33 in Logan County.

Gross was severely injured and flown to Grant Medical Center for treatment.
The 28-year-old woman driving the CR-V, who was airlifted to the same hospital, and was initially charged with wrong-way driving. Additionally, authorities say she smelled of alcohol at the scene and refused a blood draw.
The incident remains under investigation.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
Incidents such as this could be avoided if people behind wheels abide by traffic rules but, unfortunately, that did not happen in this case.
Wrong-way drivers endanger the lives of everyone on the road, and such accidents can occur for various reasons, including driver error, distracted driving, and poor road design.
NTSB statistics reveal that as many as 75 percent of all wrong-way crashes are the result of a driver getting behind the wheel while under the influence.
“Road conditions, visibility, and lighting are all possible contributing factors that are considered and must thoroughly be examined,” said Candice Bond, a Managing Partner with Bond Legal.
“An accident reconstruction team is sometimes needed to help piece together what happened. All of these resources are necessary for helping clients receive monetary compensation for damages or a loss following a collision,” said Bond, a well-known auto accident attorney.
PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM
Chloe Gross may be entitled to an injury claim, and they may seek recovery for damages, including medical expenses, future medical care, pain and suffering, and emotional trauma.
“A major injury means that there will be a lot of challenges ahead. Attorneys know how to handle all the legal aspects of a case so a person could focus on healing and moving forward,” Bond, who is also a national legal analyst for Newsline, said.
Bond added, “It doesn’t matter how large an insurance company a victim of a major crash is fighting; an attorney with experience and resources will ensure that the victim's right are protected and injuries are properly compensated.”
